Word Find — Privacy Policy

This policy covers the Word Find mobile app for iOS and Android. The website you are reading it on has its own policy at /privacy.

There is no account

Word Find has no sign-up, no login and no cloud save. Your progress — which levels you have finished, your daily streak, how many words you have found, your theme and vibration preferences — is written to your device's local storage and stays there. It is not sent anywhere, it is not readable by us, and deleting the app deletes it. There is no way to recover it afterwards, and no way for us to restore it.

What the app sends

The app includes a component that fetches its configuration from, and reports usage events to, our own servers. Each request carries a small, fixed set of technical fields:

  • the app's package/bundle identifier, its version, and the component's own version
  • the platform (iOS or Android), the OS version, and the device model
  • screen width, height and pixel density
  • whether the device is on wifi or cellular at the time of the request
  • a device identifier — on iOS the identifier for vendor (IDFV), on Android the Google Advertising ID

The device identifier is not your name, your email or your phone number, and it is not tied to any account, because there is no account. On iOS the IDFV changes when you delete every app from this developer; on Android you can reset or delete the advertising ID at any time in Settings → Google → Ads, and the app keeps working either way.

Third-party web content

The app can load web pages from third parties. Those pages are not ours, and while they are loaded they may set their own cookies or storage and collect data under their own policies, exactly as they would in a browser tab. That storage is kept separate from the rest of your device: the app uses a non-persistent store that is discarded rather than written to disk, and it never touches the cookies of your own browser or of any other app.

What is never collected

No name, no email address, no phone number, no contacts, no calendar, no photos, no microphone, no camera, no health data, and no GPS or precise location. The app requests none of those permissions — you can check that in the app's permission list on either platform.

Children

Word Find is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect data from them. If you believe a child's data has been sent to us, email the address below and it will be removed.

Retention

Event records are kept in aggregate for operating and improving the app. Because the only identifier we hold is a resettable device ID, resetting it on your side ends the link to everything recorded before that point.

Changes and contact

If this policy changes materially, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new date. Questions, or a request to delete data associated with your device identifier: hello@vexlo.click.
