Progress is saved in your browser as you go, including partly finished grids — close the tab mid-puzzle and the found words are still there when you come back. Nothing is uploaded and there is no account to create, so that progress lives on the device you played on.
Once the page has loaded it keeps working without a connection. Letters are set large and high-contrast on a warm paper background, and there is a dark theme that follows your system setting or can be pinned in the settings screen.
