The document-upload problem

Photograph a signed contract, a receipt, a passport page or a utility bill and you get a handful of loose JPGs. The system you need to send them to — a bank portal, an HR system, a visa application, an insurance claim — almost always wants one PDF. This assembles them into a single document, one image per page, in the order you arranged them.

How pages are laid out

Each image becomes one page sized to the image's own aspect ratio, so nothing is cropped and nothing is letterboxed with white bars. A photo shot in portrait produces a portrait page; a landscape photo produces a landscape page. Mixed orientations in one document are handled correctly.

Images are embedded as JPEG at high quality. A phone photo of a document is typically 2–4 MB, so a ten-page PDF built from phone photos will land somewhere around 20–40 MB. If a portal enforces an upload limit, run the photos through the resize tool at 1600 px first — a document photo stays perfectly legible and the PDF gets several times smaller.

Shooting documents so they actually read well

Flat, even light beats bright light: overhead lamps cast a hard shadow from your own phone. Fill the frame with the page and shoot straight down rather than at an angle, so the text stays rectangular. And check focus before you leave the desk — a blurry photo of a contract is a blurry page in the PDF, and no amount of processing afterwards fixes it.

Common questions

Do my files get uploaded to a server?

No. Every tool on this site runs entirely in your browser using the Canvas and WebAssembly APIs. There is no upload endpoint in the page — you can confirm this yourself by opening your browser's Network tab while you convert a file. Nothing leaves the tab, which also means the tools keep working if you go offline after the page loads.

Can I change the page order?

Yes. Files are added in the order you select them, and you can remove any file and re-add it before exporting. Selecting files one at a time gives you exact control over the sequence.

Can I add more images to an existing PDF?

Not in this tool. Build a second PDF from the new images, then combine the two with the merge PDF tool.

Is the text in my photos searchable?

No. Each page is an embedded photograph, not recognised text. Making it searchable requires OCR, which this tool does not perform.
