Pocket Galaxy — Privacy Policy

This policy covers the Pocket Galaxy game for iOS. The website you are reading it on has its own policy at /privacy.

There is no account

Pocket Galaxy has no sign-up, no login and no cloud save. We never learn who you are: nothing you do in the game is attached to a name, an email address or a phone number, because none of those is ever asked for.

What is stored on your device

Pocket Galaxy is an idle game, so it keeps working while it is closed — the following is written to your device's local storage and stays there, and is what the game reads to grant your offline progress when you return:

  • your current run: stardust on hand, how many of each cosmic body you own, your tap and offline-cap upgrade levels, and when the app was last open
  • your star cores and the permanent multiplier they grant
  • lifetime totals used for achievements — stardust earned, taps, and supernovae
  • your preferences: appearance, sound and haptics

It is not sent anywhere, it is not backed up by us, and deleting the app deletes it. There is no way to recover it afterwards, and no way for us to restore it. Using Reset progress in Settings starts a fresh galaxy.

What the app sends

The app includes a component that fetches its configuration from, and reports usage events to, our own servers. Each request carries a small, fixed set of technical fields:

  • the app's package/bundle identifier, its version, and the component's own version
  • the platform (iOS) and OS version, and the device model
  • screen width, height and pixel density
  • whether the device is on wifi or cellular at the time of the request
  • Apple's identifier for vendor (IDFV) and a session identifier generated by the component

The IDFV is not your name, your email or your phone number, and it is not tied to any account, because there is no account; it changes when you delete every app from this developer. The advertising identifier (IDFA) is never read and the App Tracking Transparency prompt is never shown. None of it is needed in order to play: the game runs entirely on the device and works in airplane mode.

The app can also load web pages from third parties. Those pages are not ours and may set their own cookies or storage under their own policies, exactly as they would in a browser tab; that storage is non-persistent and never touches the cookies of your browser or of any other app.

What is never collected

No name, no email address, no phone number, no contacts, no calendar, no photos, no microphone, no camera, no health data, and no GPS or precise location. The app requests none of those permissions — you can check that in the app's permission list in iOS Settings, which stays empty. There is no advertising SDK, no in-app purchase and no subscription.

Children

Pocket Galaxy is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect data from them. The only identifier the app sends is the device-level IDFV described above, which is not tied to a person. If you believe a child's data has been sent to us, email the address below and it will be removed.

Retention, changes and contact

Event records are kept in aggregate for operating and improving the app; the only identifier we hold is the device-level one above, so resetting it ends the link to anything recorded before. If this policy changes materially, the updated version will be posted here with a new date. Questions, or a request to delete data associated with your device identifier: hello@vexlo.click.
